15-year-old Y/n L/n is a reader. A normal girl with normal parents in a normal school, she longs for something more than her ordinary life. She longs for a place at the fictitious Camp Half-Blood, spending her days reading and re-reading her favorite books by Rick Riordan, drawing fanart, and even writing her own fanfictions. One day, she decides to try shifting, and her world is changed; possibly forever.
Flares is based off the song of the same name by The Script. I do not own the song, the main plot line or characters by Rick Riordan, or you. I own only the concept of Flares as a story. Please enjoy!

Everything is going great for a while. But just like it always is for demigods, nothing good ever lasts. The death of Nico's first and closest friend Jason Grace puts a sudden end to the sunshine that currently brightens Nico's life for once. His death triggers a lot of things for him, and shines light on a lot of his unresolved trauma. Will Nico be able to make it through this without his mental stability completely breaking once and for all? Will Nico be able to let people in enough to help him get through it? And what about the mysterious dreams that Nico keeps having of his mom? And who really is this little girl that knows nothing about her past?
