9 year old AJ is held hostage for her powerful ability to tell stories. One day, she runs away. She goes onto a ship for safety, but winds up on the ship of the one and only, Captain Sienna Silvers. The most fearsome, bloodthirsty pirate in all the land. Her late father left behind a treasure, and Sienna will do anything to find it. She has a bad history with the "royals", but takes AJ in without killing her. AJ meets Antonio, a young pirate the same age as her, and their bond strengthens, and so does the crew as they go through the worst of the worst to find the treasure before anyone else does. And maybe some new people along the way.

It has been another 5 years since the vicious plot between Philips and Vane was thwarted. Vane has declared revenge on The Queen for his misfortunes in life. While in prison the enraged pirate plots to take away the one thing that Joe would hold most dear. Her son. Clinton Jonathan Austin, now four years old, wants some independence. Charlie, with the agreement of Josephine, reluctantly agrees to send the boy ashore with Gibbons. Once ashore the pair find themselves in trouble, resulting in the boy's kidnap. Amongst their own distraught, the parents hear the cry for war from Edward Vane. He declares The Queen incompetent and takes pleasure in torturing her with the abuse of her son. With each passing day, Vane finds himself lost in his own madness causing some of his own crew to question their loyalties. Josephine, grieved over the situation, finds herself in a war between her own monsters and a new enemy. Thrown into a downward spiral, she has to figure out how to save her son, hold her marriage together, keep the nation from being ripped to shreds and destroy the monster that Edward Vane has become. In order to save her family, Josephine has to take on the one thing she has been running from for many years, her role as Queen of Pirates. Will she become the Queen she was meant to be and save her family? Or will she fall into madness, allowing Vane to gain the title King of Pirates and destroy a nation? Find out the outcome in the latest adventure of Joe Carter in Forgotten Wars.
