This world we live have many thing that aren't known by humans. Spacequakes are a phenomenon created by the arrival of Spirits. Spirits are extraordinary beings from a different dimension. Whether their own will or not is unknown, but each time they come through to this world, they create a Spacequakes that is similar to a bomb explosion which destroys everything that it engulfs. Each individual Spirit is unique in personality, power, and knowledge of the world. Besides Spirits there are unknown magical beings called concepts. DEM or Deus Ex Machina Industries is a conglomerate based in England which provides the manufacturing and sales of Realizers. Ratatoskr is an organization created for the purpose of saving Spirits, the cause of Spacequakes, through peaceful means without killing the Spirits. Japan Ground Self-Defense Force also known by the abbreviation of JGSDF, is the main branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces responsible for the land-based military operations. It is the de facto army of Japan. The Anti-Spirit Team also known by the abbreviation of AST, is a special secret unit of Wizards within the JGSDF which appears in the story. The team is designed to suppress and eliminate the Spirits with lethal force, although they have yet to accomplish this before the Spirits escape or return to the Neighboring World.
