It felt as though I was submerged under tons of water. Hard to breathe and even harder to believe I was supposed to. The heat that pierced through my tan skin was so fiery, there was no doubt they could spot it. The little dancing mice in my chest kept pounding from the inside out. All I have to do is say it, yet, it seems that I am incapable. He turns his back to me and begins to walk off. This is my last chance.

~ 10 part series ~ - The night was chilly and the frost bite bit at my nose. I crinkled it in response to the freezing cold as snow powdered all around my aching body. The ground was soft but lightly damp from the condensation on the tips of the grass blades that dig into my skin. I was naked and alone and could do nothing about it except lay there in silence, that was until the sound of footsteps came up to me in a sense of urgency. "Are you okay?" The voice asked me. I looked down at their dark blue converse shoes and follow their legs up to their torso and face. Their light ginger hair sprinkled with snowflakes that looked to be like dandruff almost. He helped me sit up and he held me close to his surprisingly warm body. "You must be freezing. Here. Take my jacket." He got up and slid it off his muscular torso and wrapped it around my shivering body. I looked down at the embroidered letters and patches on it that made me realize he was part of a sports team at our school. I can't believe a jock gave me his letterman jacket, but only if I knew that was only the beginning...
