The Walking Dead fanfic.

Checkmate - A position in which a player's king is directly attacked by an opponent's piece or pawn and has no possible move to escape the check. The attacking player thus wins the game.

Eight year old Weston has spent the last two months cut off from civilisation, living inside the CDC with his only source of company being his father, Edwin Jenner, and older sister, Phoebe Jenner. 

That is until a strange group shows up on their doorstep, drawing  both Weston and Phoebe from their safety bubble and out into the harsh realities of the walker crawling world.
