Ismene lived a sheltered life with her father, books and her beloved forest, until her father went out one day and never came home.
Desperate to find her only living relative, Ismene answers a summon by someone who claims to be a messenger of the gods and she's thrust into a world she doesn't understand. The world seems to be dying, her heart deteriorating and no one understands what's going on with the council.
With the help of her new allies, she sets off on a journey of discovery, both for her health, and the whereabouts of her father.
