SALINO, CA., 2029. Amid an all-American trip down to
the dry hills and empty rural pastures of California's
Central Valley, siblings Charlie and Reese Wilder find
themselves entranced by the vast vacancies of Mokita
County, as well as residential rumors of murder, rape
and unrest. But by far the most disturbingly enigmatic
piece to the puzzle is John Wilson, an agricultural
magnate whose unnatural interest in the duo and
