8 years later after Daniel's trip to Okinawa, Daniel LaRusso had gotten himself a pretty stable life, with 2kids, a Japanese wife and a successful Car dealership, he retired from his tournament career 3 years ago, when his mentor Nariyoshi Miyagi had passed away due to liver cancer, and deiced to abandon all of his Karate business behind, abandoning his old headband and gi in a time capsule in his old house in Reseda, though eventually he'll have to confront his past, and old demons.
