His fingers brushed through my hair, his lips against mine. Moving slowly, but fast. His body pressed against mine. The wall behind us felt hard against my back. Suddenly, his hands disappeared and his lips parted from mine. He took a step back. "Fuck Evie" he growls, walking to the other side of the bedroom. "What?" I breathed out, trying to catch my breath. My stomach felt like it was filled with butterflies, but they were trying to escape through my throat. "I just... why do you have to be..." he started, hesitating trying to find the right words. He was brushing his neck walking back and forth. "What, what am I?" I demanded an answer. "Why do you have to be my little sister's friend?" He finally shouts. "We can't do this. It's against the rules! We are like poisonous fruits for eachother" he speaks fast with a low tone. He's angry. "Don't you get that I know that? Sof is going to kill me if she ever finds out! But it shouldn't be wrong for two people to be attracted to eachother. Don't you feel the tension everytime we are in the same room? I can barely breathe when you walk past me. My head is a mess when I think of you. It's normal!" I burst out. He sits down on the bed, burying his face in his hands. With tears falling my cheeks, I run out of the room. My head spins. The alcohol has taken over my bloodveins. While I'm wandering through the hallway, I feel someones hand grabbing mine and it starts to drag me somewhere. The two tried to dampen the flames of their burgeoning attraction for each other but not before they got caught and were the talk of the town for months. After the fall out, Maddie moved away to try and start her life over and not be known as the girl who got caught doing it with her 'brother' at prom. She hasn't seen her family in ages and intends to keep things that way. Jacob, on the other hand, has worked hard to accomplish everything he's ever dreamed of. He's stayed close to home, done exceptionally well at school, and is adored by just about everyone who meets him. There's only one problem: There's a Maddie-shaped hole where his heart used to be. But no matter how hard he tries to reach out and find her, he can't. She won't let him. He let her down and gave up on them when she needed him most. And she's not ready to forgive and forget. But then Maddie's dad passes and she's forced to come home for his funeral. It should be a quick visit. She intends to make it one. But Jacob has other plans. All is well in Patty's life until her best friend goes missing. No note. No texts, just got up and was gone the next day. People say she ran off with some guy, or was hiding because she was pregnant with notorious bad boy, that Patty never seemed to like, Jasper Mckinley's child. Some say, she's dead. Patty denies all of it. She knew Jasmine like the back of her hand and she was convinced she did not run away or fell in a ditch somewhere. A year has passed. But she never stopped believing her best friend was still alive. So what happens when a stranger suddenly sends her flowers with notes about things only Jasmine and her would know? And she finds herself asking for help from the very guy she suspects? Everything starts to become a game.
