16-year-old Todd Anderson is enjoying his time spent at Welton Academy. He's found friends, the best of all being the affable Neil Perry. One day, Neil reveals he's gotten himself a spot on the Welton Chronicle, and invites Todd to sneak out with him to see it. However, on the journey they'll discover much more-about themselves and especially each other.
