Vālmīki's Rāmāyaṇa inspired the stories in this collection to answer questions such as these:

What would Rāma have thought about a monument to mark his janmabhūmi?
Why did Rāma tell Bharata that the kingdom was Kaikeyī's bride-price?
How did Hanumat get the idea that Rāvaṇa never abducted any unwilling or married woman before Sītā?
Why did the luminous herbs disappear when Hanumat came for them?
At what age were Rāma and Sītā exiled?
Did Hanumat witness Dhānyamālinī or Mandodarī distracting Rāvaṇa from Sītā?
How could Mahodara and Mahāpārśva return to battle after they were slain?

The title is Saṃskṛta and means "Recognize Ayodhyā In The Wilderness," which was part of Sumitrā's advice to Lakṣmaṇa in Vālmīki's Rāmāyaṇa.

The first six chapters are Drabbles of exactly 100 words, and the next eight chapters are Microtales of 15 words. Much later, I added another Drabble as the fifteenth chapter. Each story is based on Vālmīki's Rāmāyaṇa, and supported with citations from the text.

Too-red petals, too-sharp thorns, too-sweet fragrance. If only each flower did not have a mind of its own. If only stories were truly what one hand wrote them to be. If only the blood on every thorn was the fault of the rose and not that of the hunter. ~~~ Her breathing had suddenly halted as her eyes had accidentally landed on a piece of paper carelessly tucked under the lampholder on the bedside table. It looked like the work of a royal servant who had accidentally come across it while cleaning the room and then picked it up and tucked it away. She had carefully sat up and reached for it. The hot metal of the lampholder - like the one she had seen Draupadi seamlessly remove from a counter - had almost seared her palm, as she had hurriedly but carefully pushed it aside and retrieved the folded piece of what seemed like pearlescent paper. Touching it had felt like a grave invasion of privacy, but the curiosity that had suddenly roared and raced within her like a great river breaking free off a cliff. She had hurriedly unfolded the paper and had been greeted by a not-so-perfect handwriting and a volley of letters. It was a letter. Was he a cowardly man as told by maharishi Ved Vyas or something else? Why did he choose the way of peace and in later life, he became the messenger of the peace in the Aryavart after his mother Padma and his sister-in-law Vatsyala? Why was his relation with his son Soumyajit very complex and complicated who took the peace loving nature of his father as a sign of his Kawarta or cowardice? Why did Vrishaketu prefer his twin nephews, the sons of Padmaja and Pradumna, Shaturghna and Tamoghna, over his son and why so? Why did Parikshit hate him and later repented hard? Why did his other nephew Soumayajit worship him like a God? This is the story of heartbreak, lust, love, pain and lifelong agony, endless trial to prove himself worthy, fight against the social hierarchy and stigma, discovering of true identity and love. It may contain some mature contents. The story is completely mine based on the story of Uttar Mahabharat time and a purely fan fiction. No resemblance with any living or dead.
