Princess Adelaide, soon to be Queen of the Kingdom of Freyark, is fed up with her life. Though she has everything a girl could possibly wish for, she doesn't feel fit to be the queen. She knows her mother doesn't want her to be queen, and that her sister would be a better queen than her. So, she devises a plan to make a change.
As Adelaide's plan falls into place and she finds herself running through the forest in terror, she stops in the perfect place to accidentally meet an interesting new friend. This mysterious boy is nothing like anyone she has met before, and he knows the forest well.
The two fight several challenges together, and slowly form a closer relationship, all while Adelaide is hiding from her past.
