At the end of the final battle against Hawkmoth, Marinette dies.
the funeral is held and everyone is at a loss.
Especially her family in Gotham who weren't aware of the circumstances of her death until weeks after the funeral.
She was the youngest child of Bruce Wayne, her mother being Selina Kyle.
No doubt, the reason she prefers using plagg. She and Adrien would swap often.

Marinette had never relinquished the miracle box. No one could touch it.

Damien refused to believe she would stay dead.
