Little by little, she would reveal a piece of herself, and little by little, he appreciated her. Unconsciously, he was drawing himself closer to her, opening his heart as he spoke of the little time he was given to rest and the turbulence that was his feelings.
But as the days of his retreat dwindled, his duty echoed through their silence, and she would realize he cannot stay.
