If you looked at Grace Byers, you'd see the most perfect girl in the world. Being the top student of Hawkins High and undeniably gorgeous, she's got the brains and the beauty, and a mind so strong, she had the potential to take over the world.

But there's so much that the surface doesn't display. Behind the perfect grades and the perfect face, was a girl with trust issues, who mostly kept to herself and never believed she was worthy of being loved.

Grace was born as the result of a high school fling between her parents, Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper. Growing up in a tricky situation, she never knew how loved she was, and only ever felt like a mistake.

From the moment Grace was born, to the moment she must die, she desperately needed to prove she was worth it all. She didn't think the pressure she put on herself would break her, before it did...

Our story begins in mid-October of 1983, when Grace gets paired up in a school project with the king of the school, the one person she'd likely never find any common ground with. Surprisingly enough, they hit if off pretty quickly, and she discovers a new side of him, as well as herself.

The two of them start off with a purely academic, secret friendship, protecting the boy's shining reputation. They have a bumpy road together, and soon realize they can't stay away from eachother. Even if they should.
