She grabbed a shard and slit her wrists, letting the darkness consume her. Present: Murtasim cradled Meerab's limp body, tears streaming down his face. "Forgive me, Meerab. I'm so sorry...I love you," he whispered, his voice shaking. Maa Begum's taunts echoed in his mind, but he couldn't face her or himself.
