Cidney Thompson embarks on a journey 2000+ miles across the United States with her best friends for a Battle of the Bands that could change their lives. While on their journey, they discover how friends can help them resolve fears, problems, and conflicts- and show how family is what you make of it. The group wants nothing more than to win this competition. They're tired of their mediocre lives making minimum wage. All they want to do, more than anything, is to perform music. They experience so much over two weeks, traveling across the country from Millwood, Kansas, to San Francisco, California. So many hijinks happen, but in the end, the group wins. Their prize is a record deal with MK Publishing, and with that, this chapter of their lives closes, and a new one opens.

She started highschool dreading that she had joined halfway through the school year. She wasn't good at making friends until this one group welcomed her with open arms. The August weather was pouring down with rain. How could I allow him to break my heart? How could my heart be broken by a boy I promised myself I wasnt going to fall for? "I WANT THIS WREN!" Colby screamed at the top of his lungs behind me the rain soak me even more as I walked through the dimly lit street. My brain was traveling through the memories I had with this boy. Every kiss, Every time our bare skin touched, Every cuddle, Every drunken moment. My heart pounded from the argument me and Colby had moments ago. "Get in the car Wren." Colby said loud enough to for me to hear. I ignored it and continued walking. "Get in the car Wren!" Colby shouted. It stopped me in my tracks. My breathing heavy. I didnt just love that black haired boy, I loved the thought of him... and its broke me even more when I knew I was actually falling for him. Colby healed and broke me apart. For her, graduation was a ceremony, a consummation of all the misery and guilt she had had to bear, of which none whispered-and she finally had the chance to leave it all behind.
