During the Final Battle Against Feldway, he had inevitably sent Rimuru to the end of time and space.
However, Chrono-Saltation, had not only thrown Rimuru to the end of time and space, but it had also locked him out from returning to the world using Space-Time Leap. As if banning Rimuru's existence itself from the world, preventing his return.
In the end, Rimuru makes it back to the cardinal world, but everything is not as it was before he left.
