This is a selection of stories from the three years I spent as a shut in, how I felt during that time, and how I recovered. This is honestly just me shaking the rust off as well as sharing my story in hopes others will find a little comfort in the fact all it takes to get to a better place is to keep stepping forward and a few good friends by your side.

I smiled as I watched my closest friends be happy. That's all I've ever wanted, right? Make those around me happy, but it's hard sometimes. It's hard to watch those around you be happy when you can't manage to be happy yourself. But don't worry. It'll get better, right? That's what they say. Maybe they're right. I should just trust them. Trust. I have too much of that sometimes. I guess it's a bit of a price when you wear your heart on your sleeve. It gets knocked around pretty easily. It gets scratched and torn every now and then. My brother and sister, Aaron and Malissa, have always told me that I've always worn my heart on my sleeve. I may wear my heart on my sleeve, but I can't help but do whatever I can to protect it.
