This is a story about the cartoon version of the smiling critters. So no prototype and no playcare. The story is mainly focused on catnap and dogday, but the other critters are also going to get a fair share of screentime. This story will contain mostly fluff and maybe a little bit of angst. (This story will only have smut in chapter 69, if I ever get there)

When ''The Smiling Critters'' got added into playcare, there were only seven of them: Hoppy Hopscotch, Kickin Chickin, Crafty Corn, Bobby Bearhug, Bubba Bubbaphant, Picky Piggy, and DogDay. Before they got added into Playcare, they went through a series of tests to check if they really got what it takes to take care of children in an orphanage. After a few weeks of getting used to eachother, they heard the intercom turn on with a man behind it telling everyone that the ''Smiling Critters'' was a HUGE success, and that they have an announcement to make to all of them. ...And what they heard shocked them all... So with the two new scents of Lavender and Valerian. Will they all get along? After the departure of the three siblings, the Smiling Critters find themselves involved in a dangerous adventure outside of PlayCare; threatened by the Rejected Critters, who seem to want to finish them off and take over the leadership of the group. Despite the plans, something seems to be wrong with the Smiling Critters; The group is greatly weakened and they do not seem to understand each other. Different problems are making their bonds weaker, almost breaking apart. Will they put their grudges aside and end up defeating the Rejected Critters? Or one misstep may lead to their downfall? There has only been 7 smiling critters in the neighborhood: DogDay the self imposed leader. Bubba Bubbaphant the genius. Kicken Chicken the Daredevil. Hoppy Hopscotch the second Daredevil. CraftyCorn the artist. PickyPiggy the chef. Bobby Bearhug the therapist. There has always been 3 boys and 4 girls. They always easily outvote the boys whenever they want to do something different. One day a construction crew appears in the neighborhood and builds a new house that resembles a scratching post for a cat. Then a moving truck comes and puts boxes in the home. It's been 3 weeks and no sign of the new addition to the neighborhood. Everyone is getting impatient especially DogDay.
