Though Emerald lives a seemingly perfect life, Luke is not who he portrays himself as. Off camera he is demanding and abusive. 

Emerald loves Luke, or atleast thinks she does until she meets Ashton. He shows her what love really is. 

Throughout the story, she explains why she is still with Luke and how she wasn't always like this. She says that she is with him through guilt.

Can she free herself from his grip and live happily with Ashton or will she be forced to live miserably with Luke?

Ashton is okay right now. He's always like this after a bad bout. He starts off saying that the world is his oyster and he loves everyone, but when the energy and fresh success fades, so does he. Luke knows. He knows about all of Ashton's problems. He knows about the time Ashton was bullied nearly to the brink, the family deaths and friend losses, and the ups and downs, the latter of which seem to be more common lately. It's been so easy lately for Ashton to slip after a joke gone wrong, or a jab on Twitter. Ashton always says he's sorry, repeating it again and again if only to convince himself. Luke knows he's sorry, knows that he can't help it. And he'll sit by the bathtub for hours, holding Ashton, to make sure that he knows someone loves him. None of the other boys know. Ashton couldn't bring himself to tell them and face their disapproving stares too, and he wouldn't let Luke tell them, so he's stuck in this half state of secrecy and confession to Luke. Ashton hasn't gone too far yet, not far enough that Luke can't patch him up with gauze, antibiotics, and a long hug. But someday, someday, Luke knows Ashton won't be able to take it anymore, and Ashton will die. And Luke will be all alone.

Skyler Aviana Hemmings. The youngest of the Hemmings family. She used to be the bubbly, kinda girly sister of Luke, Jack and Ben. Luke's age is the closest age to Skyler's, thus her and Luke has a stronger relationship. Just like her brother she is musically inclined. She can sing, play the guitar and drums, and of course write music. She belonged in a band called 'Monsters In Your Heads' as the drummer and singer of the band. Whenever Luke comes home she would take off her piercings, dye hair blonde, and wear baggy shirts and shorts as well as foot socks to cover her a tattoo she got below her ankle. She'd avoid him and always go out until he'll have to go back on tour. But he went to tour for 10 months. What will happen when he got a call from his parents 6 weeks into tour saying they can't handle Skyler's attitude and they would be sending her to tour with him?
