In the quaint town of Crescent Springs, Ohio, Isaac Williams is the responsible, hard-working, devout, and obedient son that his parents always wanted. They aim for Isaac to one day take his father's place as the town's pastor and marry local sweetheart, Patty Pennbrook. Intending to fulfill his parents' wishes, Isaac prays to God every night begging for release from the sinful same-sex attraction that will not elude him. However, when Fletcher Moore, an alluring and eclectic boy from Oregon, moves to town, Isaac realizes that prayer and parental expectations are not enough to resist temptation. After a misfortunate interruption leads to the discovery of their budding relationship, Isaac's parents send him to a conversion therapy camp halfway across the state. Though Isaac questions the counselors' unorthodox practices, the pressure to be the perfect, sinless son persuades him to forget the boy he was beginning to love.
