The 30 Day Challenge

"How old are you, then?" I ask, picking up a vine and pulling it down. It lands on top of Royce and I, and he brushes it off. I wind it in, and push it into my bag.
"Twenty two." He says, cutting at a tree with his knife. I frown, as a leaf brushes my cheek, walking around him. My leg gets stuck in a vine, and I pull it off. A brown vine, ones to avoid.
"I feel like I'm the youngest one here." I mutter. He looks at me, and I raise an eyebrow.
"Well, you are." He breaks into a grin, before pulling some tree apart. "But that doesn't mean you're not good out here in the middle of no where. Ruth, you're good at protecting us also. Don't let your age tell you different." He stands up, and puts some wood into his bag.
"Yeah, well... We should head back to the camp. The others will want some food cooking." I sigh, putting the dead rabbit into my bag.
"Yeah?" He bends over, to pick up his bag again. He throws it over his shoulder, and picks up two of his knives. He takes lead, cutting at vines on our way back. I pick them up, looping them around my arm.

A group of seven have been chosen for a dangerous trip. With only the help of one map and limited knives, do all seven return? In the deadly forest with killer animals and dangerous food supplies, does their knowledge separate life and death for sure?
They all have their strengths and differences. They all have thirty days to put themselves to the test, putting their strengths to the test.
