Wendigo: The Canibal of the North

This is a short story written by a friend... It is a horror short story...

We jumped over a few logs laying on the ground and continued walking down through the trees and going up the final hill to the cave. "Maybe your right, I should probably check that out to see if they are worth anything. Since we brought our cameras we could probably take a picture of the crystals before we leave the cave and do research at home on the pictures. I could a...," was the last word I got out before Jake gasped. I looked looked up and horror chilled me to the bone at what lay before us.
The small clearing around the hillside where the cave was was barren of any sort of vegetation and was just dirt. The scary part was that the ground was stained a dark red color and dozens of those freaky necklaces were hanging around the trees in the perimeter of the clearing. The part that filled us both with horror was that the clearing was littered with human skulls, some smashed to pieces and some dangling from rope on the trees. The smell of rot and decay hung in the air, about a dozen bodies of large animals torn to pieces around the clearing, only scraps of flesh still attached to the bones.
