In a notable move, World Sports has reported plans to grant prize cash at the forthcoming Paris Olympics, denoting whenever a global league first will do as such at the Games.

Gold medalists across the 48 sports occasions in Paris will get a significant amount of $50,000 (£40,000) each.

"While competitors are frequently paid by supporters and the Olympic practice of beginner contests has since a long time ago been entrusted to history, the choice by olympic style events' global body to pay prize cash addresses a significant shift for the Games," said World Sports president Sebastian Coe.

Coe stressed the significance of perceiving competitors' endeavors, which attract tremendous viewership to Olympic transmissions.
