Gotham's crime worsened after Batman's disappearance. Superman felt that something bad had happened. Batman would not answer his communications links, and the police in the city had not seen the Bat. Concerned and worried, Superman turned to one vigilante who also lives in Gotham-one vigilante who has met each Justice League member individually. Shadow Fox has a better connection with Batman, who knows who he is behind the mask. And that knowledge shocks the Justice League to the core.

Batman especially has been dealing with more than he can handle and Clark is tired of seeing his friend so stressed out.
