It's 2012, and The Shield is in their locker room, chatting, when a time machine mysteriously appears. The trio decides to investigate. When they step inside, the time machine instantly recognizes Seth, and he's locked inside. 

Using the time machine, Seth time travels to 2024, before the most significant event of WWE history: WrestleMania 40. He finds a future version of one of his opponents, now known as the American Nightmare. Determined, Seth decides to help him achieve his dream.
