Noah Clarke graduated one year before his junior, Elijah Pierce, did. Noah pursued his dream career as a journalist and was recruited by a renowned journalist agency. Elijah Pierce is the youngest son of a conglomerate family, the Pierce family, who has their own famous mansion in the city, the Pierce Mansion. Elijah's father owns the most renowned real estate development company, and his older siblings have businesses under his father's company. Being the only son of his father's second wife, Elijah was an outcast in his home, his birth mother would abuse him to the point of depression.

A week after the day of Elijah's graduation, where he met Noah for the first time in a while, Elijah went missing.

Two years after Elijah's disappearance, Elijah appeared before Noah again.
Elijah had set his family mansion in fire, and not a single person in his family made it out alive.
