The world was in chaos. The sky turned dark as the alien ships descended upon the city. People ran in terror as the invaders fired their weapons, destroying buildings and leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. The aliens were unlike anything anyone had ever seen before - with their strange, otherworldly features and advanced technology, they seemed almost invincible. The military fought back with all their might, but it was no use. The aliens were too powerful, and their attacks too relentless. As the sun rose the next day, the city lay in ruins - a stark reminder of the new threat that humanity now faced.

What do you think will be the response of the government to the alien invasion? Will humanity be able to fight back and defeat the alien invaders? Will there be any survivors among the people affected by the attack? How will this event affect the future of mankind and the world as we know it?

Stay tuned to know what happens next. Let's wait and see.

Humanity is not alone in the universe. More specifically Earth is not alone. It is an age of wonder for humanity. For all but a few. Our history has been altered, according to one who has visions of the fractured world that could have been but never was. The way history would have played out without an intergalactic coalition of humans visiting Earth. And he cannot decide whether the advanced human's arrival is really all that it seems. Whether we would have been better off as things are now, or with how his visions tell him things ought to have been. There are multiple worlds colonized by a vast space faring technologically and biologically enhanced human race all across the galaxy. Earth is just one of many of such colonies. At some point in our forgotten past Earth was cut off from our intergalactic neighbors and decides to fend for herself. Later we lose ourselves to infighting and nationalism instead of being true to our nature of being a space dwelling, intergalactic human cooperative. Now our space cousins are reestablishing contact with Earth. Bringing their superpower enabled, technological mastery of science so advanced as to seem supernatural. Eliminating slavery, wars, crime, diseases, climate shifts, and currency, with their arrival. Offering the promise of entry into a thriving united galactic empire. (I am dropping in from time to time updating the story with fresh ideas as they pop into my head this is so very much a first draft I have not even decided on names for some of the characters or different factions of humans that are to be encountered from beyond our solar system)

Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258!
