Kelly is a black girl who recently moved to the UK with her mom after a messy divorce. Despite the changes in her life, she has taken everything in her stride and remains nonchalant and adaptable. She is excited about starting a new school, but is also aware of the challenges she may face as a person of color in a new environment.

Her new school was a mixed-race school, and she met a lot of new people there. One of those new people was Jayden, a black guy who quickly became a school jock. He was an athlete who was popular with the girls at the school, and Kelly quickly became friends with him. Despite their different backgrounds, they found that they had a lot in common, and they formed a close bond.

Kelly was initially overwhelmed by the amount of activity and the amount of social interaction that came with being at a new school.
