It is not until death a person can be buried with their sins, their mistakes. And even then, their mistakes are not forgotten. In History, in time. Targaryens are notorious for their madness and not a single soul has forgotten that.

A story of how easily lives are ruined, and how the world shapes women in Westeros to be perceived as the villains. A tale of how a whole bloodline can be ruined, by an action caused by a man.

A massive shout out to @what_the_fawkes for the incredible book cover, that completely fits my fanfic <333

"The dream...it was clearer than a memory. And I heard the sound of thundering hooves, splintering shields and ringing swords. And I placed my heir upon the Iron Throne, and all the dragons roared as one." ~ King Viserys Targaryen "If I'm to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all. But when I say 'I love you', it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Alicent. ~ Geralt Targaryen "Brother, if you're named heir and I your Princess Consort, your claim would not be so easily challenged. The Velaryons are of the sea. But you and I are made of fire We have always been meant to burn together." ~ Rheanyra Targaryen "Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? It's trampled under your pretty foot again." ~ Alicent Hightower "Think for yourself. It'll save you a lifetime of heartbreak." ~ Yennefer Martell "Dreams didn't make us kings. Dragons did." ~Daemon Targaryen The Dragon's Heart Is Mine tells the tale of two best friends torn apart by men in their lives. It also includes their political alliances and especially the civil war between the Greens and Blacks. The war between two siblings, torn between marriage and love, however, their history forms the core of House of The Dragon. Viserys' choice for Geralt to marry Alicent Hightower and Daemon's attraction to Rhaenyra instigated most of the events that shaped their lives forever. Every character's ideas of marital unions and love are vastly different from each other, giving rise to insightful and memorable impact, thereby causing a division of civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
