They stared at each other for a long moment before Bruce finally said, "We fight for justice, not vengeance. If you allow yourself to sink down to that place, you may never come back. It will kill you if you keep on fighting to avenge things that have not even happened yet" Nico stared at his father, the rage that had been boiling underneath his skin every second since he had woken up back in November began to break through the surface. He took off his domino mask and tossed it onto the table, making sure that Bruce had to look at his eyes-- the ones that no longer resembled the fourteen year old that Bruce had once asked to join his family. The Second Giant War was gruesome. With only 3 of the 7 left alive, they demigods of prophecy left the camps. They were unable, or maybe just unwilling, to be in the places where their friends once walked. They chose to escape the world of demigods while they still could. They wanted to try for normal so that maybe, one day, they could forget any of it ever happened. They wanted peace and safety. Nico... well, Nico had other ways of coping. ------------- Nico had had a long life. 16 years old, plus however many had passed in that cured casino had left little joy in his life. He had lost his grandparents, his mother, Bianca, his friends, and then Hazel... he missed her more than he could bare. He only knew his sister for around a year before he had lost her, and not a single day had passed in the last two years that he hadn't thought of her. He couldn't go to either camp or the underworld without feeling like his chest would explode from the pain. He knew she was in a better place. Her and Frank were in Elysium with Jason, Piper, and the rest of the heroes that died in the wars. She was at peace. Maybe she had even managed meet his mother and they were watching him now... though he honestly hoped they weren't.
