Peace has just been restored between the Vanir and the Aesir. It is a time of tenuous hope and opportunity. An opportunity which the All-Father takes full advantage of. During the onslaught against Vanaheim a small faction of Aesir broke away, displeased with the brutality inflicted. Now that peace has been negotiated with his marriage to Freya, he sees a similar opportunity with his son Heimdall and the eldest daughter of the split faction Brynhild. This is their story.

Characters and setting inspired by and from the Norse God of War games with original characters mixed in and inspired by the Norse mythology at large. I am in no way affiliated with the teams that made the God of War games. All credits to characters, storylines, settings etc. from the games belong to them.

Not taking this too seriously. Edits on published chapters until the story is complete should be expected. These should only be lore corrections or additional details. Not trying to be 100% lore accurate outside of my original ideas, but trying to adhere to the main points found in the GOWR game. Just started playing GOW 2018, have completed GOWR.

Hope you enjoy!

Sadly, I really don't have the motivation to continue this story any longer. I know a lot of you have been wanting to read more of it, and I sincerely apologize for not being able to deliver. The good news is, someone has offered to adopt the story and continue where I left off. If you wish to continue reading this, you may look for it in the profile of @CommanderALFA ••••••••••○○○○○•••••••••• Modern HTTYD AU wherein Hiccup-... After being recruited, he meets amazing new friends and quickly becomes one of the organization's best. But Berk is in trouble. And now, Hiccup's conflicted. He ran away from Berk to start a new life, but...deep down, does he actually miss the town? Does he miss the people who tormented him? He doesn't believe it himself, but...maybe he does. How long will Hiccup be gone? Will Berk be safe and find a new heir? And what about Astrid? Did she forget about him, or did she just remember him even more? --------------------------------------- Disclaimer: I don't own the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, nor Rise of the Guardians, Frozen, Brave, Tangled, or Big Hero 6. Those rights go to their respective owners, both DreamWorks and Disney. Any names I come up with are completely made for this story and should they accidentally be the name of an actual person in the real world is completely coincidental.

A tale sought to be as old as time. A story told around a campfire as the children eagerly leaned in, hungry for the next plot. The story of young gods that commanded the winds and tides, that wove your fate and destiny; gods that rode into battle on the backs of mighty steads, axe in hand, and shield in the other. A story of thunder and lightning, and snakes that writhed through tall grass. A story of love. Asgard and Vanaheim. Two sister realms of the World Tree, Yggdrasil. Both realms raged war for centuries over a long forgotten matter. Thousands killed, cities laid to waste. From this war, Freya and Iwaldi, rulers of Vanaheim, strike a truce with the All-Father Odin in attempt to finally bring everlasting peace through the Nine Realms. Sigyn, Princess of Vanaheim, and Thor, Son of Odin, are arranged to marry for the sake of their realms. Neither of them want it. Neither of them love each other. The young God of Mischief, however, brews himself a plan. But, with all the bad luck in the nine realms, Loki falls for the young Princess. Young love blossoms like a flower from its bud. Both families are against it and try everything in their power to keep them apart. It's not an ideal match. The silver-tongued Prince cannot be trusted to keep everlasting peace. Whether it be The Norns, nothing can keep them apart in the end. Until a terrible tragedy bestows them and Loki falls from Asgard. (Based on Norse Mythology.)
