The USS Courageous has finally been released for her maiden voyage. Her first mission is straightforward in design: locate her sister ship, the USS Voyager, which vanished three months ago without a trace.
What begins as a simple recovery assignment soon transforms into something far greater. The Courageous and her crew are thrust into a journey filled with danger, discovery, and choices that will test the very limits of their courage.
Disclaimer: This is an original Star Trek story featuring my own characters. The story and the crew of the USS Courageous belong to me. I of course got the idea to write my own Star Trek story from @Ahsoka_501st. Rated Mature because I'm paranoid.

Just months after the new Cardassian Dominion alliance decimated the Demilitarized Zone, Starfleet is facing the prospect of war against a villain almost as dangerous as the Borg. Diplomats are hopeful for a treaty, however Starfleet prepares for war. Captain Peyton left his uniform behind when Starfleet turned their back on a people he loved, a people who were destroyed when the DMZ fell. However, Starfleet has asked him to return and lead a special project he had devised years ago to help bolster the fleets. Against his own personal feelings, he chooses to come back to help protect the Federation. Little did he expect to face his past and a new threat to the Federation within days of starting the project. Note to readers: This story was written twenty years ago. I revisited it and re-wrote it with a better eye after having published 17 books professionally since then. This is a my love letter to Star Trek that I grew up with. Any similarities to what has come out since then are coincidence. I did not add or change any of the story points or ideas in the re-write. "I have the utmost respect and admiration for Captain Janeway." Chakotay's response had been a long time coming. "Yeah, that too..." Tom threw in, as the tone of Chakotay's voice suggested the question had hit a little too close to home. Tom paused momentarily, mulling over what to say next or whether to keep his mouth shut. He put his hand on Chakotay's shoulder. "Commander, I could be wrong but, personally, I think you're holding out on false hope. If it was me, I'd want to know for sure. Maybe even push the point. Make a move. I mean, what's the worst case scenario here? Either she's going to phaser you, or she's going to..." "Consider yourself relieved, Lieutenant!" They both jumped, startled at the sound of her voice. Inwardly, Tom wondered how long the captain might have been standing behind him, while he tried to remember the last few words of his conversation with Chakotay. SYMBOLS or more informally "Why the heck Chakotay chose Seven of Nine when, previously, he wanted to throw her out the nearest airlock" is a work of fanfiction. It sticks to canon and is an ensemble piece, but focuses on Janeway and Chakotay predominantly. Paramount and Pocket Books own everything Star Trek - no copyright breaches intended. I just took the characters out for a play. Literary agent sent most of this to Pocket Books in 1998, but they didn't want it. I have a sweet rejection letter! So it's mine now. A couple of re-writes since then to relocate it in Season 7 and add Chapter 1 and the Epilogue. Ezra's First
Ezra thought his grades would get him posted to a place in the Navy that reflected his ability, something like First Fleet, the Raiding Nine, or even Home Guard. Humanity's enemy the Preshk where attacking more often and Ezra wanted to be contributing directly to the war effort. Instead he got put on a Scout ship with just one other soul and sent on a five month mission out into deep space. The mission quickly becomes more than the young commander could have ever expected and the fate of humanity lies in how fast he can return back to humanity. This short story is just over 18,000 words and contains sexual content between two men, so If that's not your cup of tea.. don't read :) This is my first attempt at something like this, so feedback is welcome, though be nice :)Completa

Maiden Voyage
Welcome back to the beginning. The United Space Ship Enterprise is dispatched on its first mission under the command of Captain Christopher Pike. What should be a routine supply drop to a federation colony turns out to be a complete mystery involving turn of the century architecture, unsanctioned alien first contact, a destroyed starship and technology never encountered. Pike and his crew must navigate through the deceptions of colonial Governor Cyril Vessey, to discover the secret behind the planet's enhancements and what threats his new alliance may pose on the galaxy. Maiden Voyage is a character vs. technology conflict with a voyage and return archetypal narrative arc. Replete with all new characters, greatly expanded central characters, and a beefed-up security force, the story revives the magical elements and social commentary of the original series. It is nostalgia at its finest. Maiden Voyage takes place in the year 2250, fifteen years prior to the original series and four years prior to The Cage. A slightly different take on Joseph Campbell's monomyth, these heroes evolve from the crew members surrounding the protagonist, Captain Christopher Pike. Through him, they are afforded opportunities to seize the sword. He is more than a mentor. Pike is an active participant in their journeys. Together the characters are greater than the sum of all parts.Completa
