When a quest with a questionable reward was presented to Sylvest, he honestly didn't think too much about it. Killing a monster with a squad of trained knights for a reward of 3 million gold pieces? Sounds like a steal, he'll be set for life. But things took a turn when he met the target in question and what she was capable of. A witch with beauty even princesses are envious of and unparalleled in magical prowess that she puts the Demon Lord to shame, it's safe to say that this was way above his paygrade. However, despite that, he had defeated the witch but the squad of knights were eliminated...including the disguised prince. Now he couldn't return and get his rewards lest his head is sent rolling on the red carpets of the Euranasia Empire. When faced with the turmoil of having to not stay in a country of his liking, the witch Selena offers him a job to escort her to a land faraway where the paranoid people are unable to hunt her. The reward was too good to pass up and wherever they'll travel will ultimately suffice as a place for him to achieve his lifelong goal of a peaceful, carefree life. Selena notes how he was able to defeat her, a witch who could even fell a Demon Lord without an ounce of mana in him and questions his strength. His response? "I have an arm of God." Inspired by "God Hand", "The Mercenary and the Witch" and "Unnamed Memories"

The girl, who found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, experienced a stroke of misfortune. Following this incident, she was drawn into a world completely foreign to her, where she struggled to adapt to her new life. I was face to face with death. I knew it. I hadn't even realized when his hand had grasped mine. Fear overshadowed all my senses. But after what felt like an eternity, I finally felt my wrist. He was gripping it so tightly that blood could no longer flow to my hand. As I lowered my head to look at the hand clutching my wrist, he used his other hand to grab my chin, turning my face toward his. Then, he pressed his lips to mine. I stood frozen for a moment. Then, I let myself go. For a fleeting instant, he seemed to let himself go too. And then, just like that, he was gone. In an instant, he had vanished. The hand gripping my wrist, the lips pressing against mine-gone. And I was left standing there, completely stunned. It felt as though I had forgotten my own name. I started to tremble. My legs gave out beneath me, and I collapsed to the ground. Sitting there, shaking in shock, I finally understood what he was.
