Submit your best flash fiction! These recurring flash fiction contests will be defined by genre and form of flash fiction, including but not limited to six-word stories, two-sentence stories, 280-character stories, dribbles, drabbles, sudden fiction, flash fiction, and so forth.

To Participate:

1. Publish your complete work of flash fiction here on Wattpad (it can be new or an existing piece of work).
2. Direct message me to let me know you are participating. You MUST include the name of your story AND a link to your story. (I don't want to miss your story because it got eaten by the algorithm, so this is an important step.)

Prizes: First, second, and third place winners will be featured on the Underground Bookshelf website and social media with their bio, photo, and winning work of flash fiction (with permission). Underground Bookshelf is an online platform that celebrates diversity in literature by sharing resources, original stories/poems, hosting virtual book clubs, and more. "Tell me. Why won't you tell me?" He asks and I look towards him slowly, "You didn't even talk to me until yesterday! I'm trying to make it so nobody notices me, Kingston. I don't need this." I say and he slowly turns my face towards him, closing my locker and pinning me up against it. "What if I need you?" He asks and I roll my eyes. "Nice one, Hamlet." I say, walking away from him. One of the perks of being short, easily get away from tall people. ❤︎ Kingston Brag is the blonde haired popular guy with baby blue eyes, he's the guy every girl wanted. Every. Single. One. Except for her... Summer Cynthia. She hides in the corners and under black hoodies to hide her scars and bruises, her bloody arms and cuts, she hides her life. This book contains one sexual scene, lots of bad words, abuse, violence, all that jazz. If you don't want that don't read the book and comment how it's not appropriate or some crap like a mom. There are two lesbians, a gay man, and a bi mother, so don't freak out if you will I'd rather you not read. Welcome to Undiscovered Gems Competition (UGC)! I love to help writers get a second hand view of their work. I feel that there is so much published work on Wattpad that deserves to be acknowledged but people a) Don't have the time b) Don't read new books with low reads or c) Can't find them. I've read so many undiscovered books here and I usually comment on how to improve and what is done well. I know that new stories may not be continued or people may not have confidence in themselves and sometimes I feel my comments go unnoticed. Therefore, I would have made a competition where undiscovered writers get a chance to be acknowledged through 'The Undiscovered Gems Competition' and get some feedback that they, themselves, are looking for. From the contest Write to Rank, a competition about action writing with challenges every week. This is my entry on the contest. Hope you enjoy it. Released : Part 1 -white belt : write a 100 words flash-fiction action about the realization of danger. The wordcount must be exactly 100 Part 2 -yellow belt : write a 500 words flash-fiction with the prompt "Dead or alive. You're coming with me." The wordcount max is 500 words Part 3 -orange belt : write an 800 words flash-fiction with dialogue between good and bad. The wordcount max is 800 words Part 4 -green belt : write a 1000-1500 words flash-fiction using the genres of action & thriller/horror. Must mostly contain active sentences and fast-paced. It has to be first person perspective. Part 5 -blue belt : write a 1000-1500 words flash-fiction using the theme "Ride or Die" with a third person perspective and the show not tell sentences. Part 6 -purple belt : write a 1000-1500 words action fantasy with a plot twist. Part 7 -brown belt : write a 2000-2500 words action + free theme and with active sentences. End with an insane cliffhanger. Part 8 -red belt : write a 3000-3500 words (continuation of the brown belt) + active sentences and fast-paced. Part 9 -black belt : write a 4000+ words to end the story of Part 7&8.

30 Days, 30 Stories: A Writing Challenge di stvnlra

This is a 30 day writing challenge, a collection of short stories. I've always been a world class procrastinator. The goal of this challenge is to get me writing regularly and, hopefully, break me of the perfectionist thinking that often paralyses me. The Rules: 1. Write and publish 1 short story (flash fic, vignette) per day for 30 days. 2. Stories must be at least 100 words. 3. They can be of any genre or subject matter. Like a lot of writers I have notebooks lying around full of random story ideas. Most of my older ideas are for novels and screenplays. Been going thru my old ideas and picking out the ones I think lend themselves to the short story format. I'm also working on coming up with NEW ideas that I can use here. Never been good at using prompts, but this is a good opportunity to experiment with those. All the stories here are original works written specifically for this challenge.
