Just a little (personal) trivia:
When I was 15 years old, I wrote a 40,000-word novella for the MYP Personal Project (part of the IB programme). It was the first story I had ever written-a sci-fi, first-contact story. Reading it now, everything from the plot to the writing is absolutely terrible, but it will always mean the world to me.
I had developed such a strong emotional bond to the characters I had created that writing the last page felt like I was bidding a forever farewell to people I deeply loved and cared about. I was sobbing, and sobbing...
The main character's name was Scarlett. One of the other characters-an astronaut who went with her to the Alpha Centauri star system-was named Luke.
Since I wrote this short story (Deep Ocean Floor) for my undergraduate degree's Final Year Project, and since it is also a sci-fi, first-contact story, it felt fitting to bring Scarlett and Luke back to life. I am so glad that, through writing this, I was able to briefly meet them again.

"I-I'm sorry for waking you up. Please forgive me Alpha." She basically threw herself to her knees and bared her neck: a sign of submission. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I thought we had begun to move passed this, but I knew deep down it would take more than holding her to get through this. I walked over to her and pulled her up gently to her feet. I grasped her chin in my hand and lifted her head up to look me in the eyes. "Jasabelle, you are my Luna. You are not my maid, you are not my servant. I will never punish you...well in any way that will cause you harm." I chuckled but my wolf howled in sexual frustration, waiting for the misbehavior of our mate so he could make good on the promise. --------- Nyx has finally found his Luna. She's perfect to him. She's everything he could've dreamed she would be, but she's afraid of her own shadow. Jasabelle was petrified of everything. She knew nothing but cruelty and expected nothing less from anyone. The Hawaiian Special Forces
This is the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. The goal: 50,000 word RAW draft written entirely in the month of November. Unlike most of my stories, which I prefer to edit before posting, I'm actually going to post updates to this at the end of each day in chapter-sized chunks. The idea behind this story is that a terrorist attack in the near future causes the US to go hyper-isolationist, to the point that it abandons Hawaii and Alaska to fend for themselves. They do, forming the United Pacific States (maybe with a few other island countries). Hawaii then goes on to turn itself into the new world police with stealthy, genetically modified cyber-soldiers. I'm marking this story as mature because there will be action scenes, and probably some interesting perspectives on nudity and relationships. I'm not planning on anything explicit, but this won't be a kids book. Validated winner at 50,040 words!Complete

She leaned forward as she asked the question in a low voice, sliding her arms along his chest as she shifted her position, moving her legs close together so that he was even tighter inside of her as his hands came down to grip her ass, thrusting into her from below. "Yes." he was barely able to gasp out the word. "Not in my pack. But in many- most even- other packs." "Why not yours?" He felt her mouth slip forward, her tongue teasing the same place he had marked on her body half an hour earlier. "The men in our pack just haven't allowed it. It's a sign of claiming and-" her teeth grazed the spot lightly, not hard enough to break the skin, but he felt a mixture of pleasure and pain shoot through his body and he drew in a sharp breath, his head tilting back automatically as he offered her better access to the spot. "It shows that you belong to your mate. Doesn't it? Like I belong to you?" "Yes." He murmured, gripping her more tightly, so close to the edge he knew he'd lose control at any moment. He only hoped he could bring her to the peak of pleasure again first. He'd thought she was close. "Nova." He knew his voice sounded desperate. "Can I mark you, Alpha?" ---------------------------------- When Nova stumbles into pack lands and is captured by the Blazing Moon pack she knows that she has to escape. E28 held the entire world within his orange ethereal glowing hands. To most people, being twenty-four years old for all eternity, sounds like a pretty sweet deal. No elderly body aches, your sex drive remains on 100%, and you'll forever be in the prime of your life. Well, in their quest for scientific breakthroughs, our brilliant, overachieving ancestors unknowingly rewrote the entire genetic playbook for our bloodline-long before I was even conceived. By running experiments on themselves, they inadvertently spliced and hardcoded their DNA with something not even they fully understood. The result? Earl Williams the 28th. Just after Earl's 400th birthday he discovered his 5th dimensional abilities could take him pretty far; literally. As in intergalactic travel. Over time he met other interdimensional beings. Such as Draco, a powerful 4D being who motioned for the ICU to immediately annihilate all of humanity, in order to give Earth time to rebuild its natural resources. Initially, the Intergalactic Chamber of the Universe granted Draco permission to follow through with his murderous plan. However, Earl stepped in and pleaded for humanity's relocation instead of their annihilation. You see Earl himself was earth born. Only as a teenager, did he discover his 5D abilities. He saw the progress humanity had been making. He knew they had learned from their past environmental failures. In his opinion, the people of Earth didn't have to die. All they needed was a new start on a different planet.Complete
