In Kunross, a grand city brimming with heroes and monsters, twenty-three year-old Daija Cross decides to keep her power hidden and fight crime unseen. She has a lot to juggle,-her final year of college, her part-time job, making sure her friends don't see any traces of vigilantism, her obsession with her missing father and the gut-wrenching fear that her mother will never awaken from her coma-and the last thing she needs is the Heroes Association of Kunross showing interest in her two abilities.

Her world changes when a catastrophic battle results in the brutal murder of one of Kunross' beloved A-level Heroes-their life stolen by an unknown individual with the ability to summon fire in an instant. With their destructive power, and the rise of a new crime syndicate, panic grips the city and the Heroes have no choice but to fight. When Daija is recruited by Ian Davidson-the most powerful A-level Hero and next in line to lead-she uses the opportunity to explore what the Association hides from the public's eyes. She hopes to find anything related to her missing father, but if she's not careful, the path she's on will lead her to a fiery demise.

A ragtag gang of teens teams up with a neighboring girl gang when a major cartel moves into town, threatening their families, their turf, and the community they've worked so hard to protect. ***** Cash West formed the Seven 20s - a gang of six overzealous teens with guns - to keep his tiny, crime-infested town in nowhere California safe. His methods are unorthodox and frankly illegal, but the town loves his Robin Hood heroics. However, the gang gets more than they bargained for when the Mendoza cartel rolls into town, determined to knock them off the map. As the threat hits closer to home, Cash has no choice but to team up with his ex-girlfriend Tiana's neighboring girl gang, the Hearts of Spades. Soon allies become enemies, families get trapped in the crossfire, and romance brews as Cash fights to unravel a massive conspiracy that puts everyone that matters to him at risk. When the stakes are life and death, will the gangs be able to overcome an enemy more powerful than any of them could have predicted?
