This couldn't happen to my parents, who've lived through two Hunger Games, a rebellion, starvation, and so, so many funerals. Nothing could kill them, right? They can't be dead. It's just a bad dream, I'm having a nightmare. But I know that's not true. The look on my brother's face is too shocked and sad to be imagined. The tears slowly falling down my face feel too palpable to be unreal.
Katniss and Peeta Mellark are dead.
Sage Hope Mellark is the daughter of the Star-Crossed Lovers, Katniss and Peeta Mellark. When her parents are killed, things begin to get interesting. Rebellion is supposed to be over, the Districts are supposed to be at peace. But maybe the death of the remaining Victors could start a new kind of war.

When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. The day he died was the first in a long line of times I have ever seen Katniss cry. She never cried before then but she cried a lot after. Katniss' mother was suppose to get a job after his passing, she didn't. They were starving, dying. I decided to help. After school I would drag Katniss into the woods by her feet.
