And when chance brings Avery into Lock's life, the desire for knowledge is gradually eased. She brings him answers and a whole new perspective on the world that Lock wonders why he never thought the she did. he starts to understand the world better.
Chance also Harper into Lock's life, in fact she was brought into his life first. She makes him smile, and laugh, and feel good about himself. She gives him the feeling that everything is fine, and she makes him feel want to be more.
