Bit of an 'origin story' to Hiraeth (WIP) which shows how much grief can interfere with living your life.

This novel is told from the perspective of Alex - as she grows up with her best friend, Andy. It follows 15 years of friendship, in the format of monthly journal entries.
Andy and Alex's teen angst evolves into harsh adult realities, but they always have each other. It shines a light on a lot of prevalent issues in society: addiction, stalking, assault, abuse, mental illness, and the ever-present grief of losing loved ones.
Andy and Alex never get the timing right in their love for one another, and often drift apart as a result - but they can always find each other again.
