Of course the moment Nikki Paterson starts questioning her place in the world is when all the rules change. Awakened is a mature stand-alone, supernatural romantasy, enemies to lovers full-length story with two parts. It is plot heavy and progresses fairly steadily from slow to fast burn between the two MCs and explores some darker themes and elements of past trauma and perhaps some unhealthy coping mechanisms that have been born out of said trauma, while navigating various twists and turns.
