Winner of Best New Story of the Year 2017. The Haven High Series: Book 1: Enlightened; Book 2: Addicted; Book 3: Despaired; Book 4: Protected; Book 5: Abducted; Book 6: Betrayed; Book 7: Beloved; Book 8: Transformed; Book 9: Ascended. (All nine stories contained in this one book) Enlightened: Zachary's an ordinary teen going to a regular high school. At least, he thinks so, until he finds out he's not. Now he's going to have to live in a world he doesn't understand, he doesn't think is safe, and he knows is discriminatory. He doesn't know any of the rules, but he knows breaking them can come at a cost that few are willing to pay. At least he doesn't have to navigate this mysterious world alone. He has his best friend Lauren, a halfblood fae, to help him learn the ropes. Now, he just has to decide if he can live a secret life-- One that includes: black market magic, underground criminal creatures, deadly weapons, and finally conscription to a corrupt magic council--all because he and the other members of his school were unfortunate enough to be born... Halfbloods Addicted: Cameron the halfblood Selkie and Megan the halfblood Mermaid had more reasons to fear the sea than the dangerous magical world they live in. Both thought they had found a love that nothing could tear apart, but neither had banked on the long perilous year they were about to embark on. A year froth with ancient curses and blood feuds, unbreakable death pacts and magical subterfuge, unstoppable enemies and finally, an addiction born of desperation. In the end, will their love survive the call of the Sea? UPDATED! Daily © 2017 These stories and works ARE COPYRIGHTED. "For a place called Paradise City, this island sucks. I don't think a single day has gone by that I haven't thought about stabbing the shit out of myself," he said. "Especially since I'm forced to live with you every second of every day." "Sh. I'm trying to science," I said, not looking up from my binoculars. "See anything interesting?" "Not really. My vision's a little clouded from the fog and rain clouds you constantly emit." He laughed. "You never fail to amuse me, Rea." "But you just said-" "I just said you make me want to stab myself. Interpret that however you'd like." With a love for whales and all life (besides maybe humans), Reagan Winebrenner had never even seen an ocean until her senior year in high school. But the moment she saw her first humpback, she knew she had found her passion and future career. A few years later and an invitation to Paradise City in hand, Reagan has her entire summer laid out for her, working on the project of a lifetime. But with five other students completing their projects as well, will they discover something worthwhile, or will they end up a psychology lesson for future generations? A New Adult Watty Winner 2019
