After being raised by Blaytz, paladin of the blue lion, and trained by Alfor, paladin of the red lion and king of Altea, Lance was a trusted protector alongside Voltron as the paladin of the white lion

He resembled Blaytz in many ways, being both a kind and brave paladin, but also a playful and flirty winged Altean, however, after the fall of Altea and Voltron, Lance and his lion, Blanca became missing, only ever appearing with the rise of Voltron, nearly 10,000 deca-phoebs later

Unknown to many, Lance had been resting in the white lion, both trapped in stasis until they were found by the half-breed exiled prince of the Galaren empire, Prince Lotor as he sought for the key to the land of Oriande, intrigued by the winged altean and white lion, Lotor brought the two back to his small fleet of other exiled half-breeds

Prince Lotor wished to study Lance, never seeing a winged altean in his many years of learning from the alteans, he didn't trust Lance alone, knowing at least half his fleet were loyal to his father, so Lotor kept Lance hidden in his chambers or in uniform as he feared what would happen if the witch, Haggar, were to find a winged altean

The two got closer, not realizing what exactly closer entailed until it was too late. . .
