Reality is her realizing, all her life she was living with strangers,  strangers that hid the truth from her as they thought they were keeping her safe not exactly giving it an idea about how she was the one who was the danger. When they realized her true nature slowly started surfacing,  they realized the danger they'd caused for the absent minds that refused to believe in what they thought was just tails told to children.
They end up moving too late when she has already committed murder not intending to...this cannot be her fault right? As she's still just a child that knows nothing about this other side of the universe.
