Leaving Woodsboro felt like growing wings, freedom. I was only sixteen when I left, right after Maureen Prescott's murder. It wasn't fair to the people I loved; I left my best friends and siblings behind because I was sick of this town, I was sick of hiding. I needed to find myself, to be myself fully, loudly. Truth was, I was irrevocably in love with Sidney Prescott and I couldn't feel that way in Woodsboro, not in 1996.
