Her father, the commanding General of Navarre's armies, decreed otherwise. He insisted that Alyssa, like all members of the Melgren lineage, was destined for the skies as a dragon rider, not confined to the quiet confines of scholarly pursuits.

With fewer dragons inclined to form bonds than there are cadets, many would opt to eliminate Alyssa to enhance their own prospects for success. Others would seek her demise simply for being her father's daughter-like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

With each dawn, she relies more on her sharp intellect to navigate the impending dangers. Yet, as time progresses, the external conflict escalates, the kingdom's defenses weaken, and casualties mount. Adding to her distress, Alyssa harbors suspicions that those in charge conceal a dreadful truth.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda-because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.
