Marlee hasn't known freedom for 26 years since the Shakall have invaded their planet. He's always known to be fearful of everything in his life. Even with the rise of rebellions, his obedience to the Shakall leader is unwavering.
Being labeled as his peoples messenger and the voice for both human and Shakall, he struggles with the morality of things. So when the Khagvek arrive and help rid the humans of the violent Shakall, he doesn't know how to react.
