In the year 2003, the Digital World had to face an unprecedented crisis that would lead to the mass extermination of those Digimon deemed undesirable, in accordance with the directives of "Project Ark". The Old Digital World, as it came to be known, having transformed into a realm of death unsuitable for life, was sealed in the depths of the Dark Area. However, 16 years later, the unthinkable happened: unknown signals emanating from that forgotten wasteland. Due to this, the administrator of the Digital World ordered the Royal Knights to investigate the site; it couldn't know yet that this was the beginning of a crisis even bigger than the one before...
