(Y/N), a [GENDER] who has insomnia, moves to France from the United States in the early sixties to be at least closer to their homeland, Germany.

However, (Y/N) does not exactly have a stable life in France, and has to keep changing jobs--until they actually get a job at the local bistro in the outskirts of Paris.

They work along with Rody, the only other waiter at the bistro, who is in the same financial situation.

But their boss . . . is a bit cold.
